Friday Night Lights 17.2 Recap

Even though the workout for CrossFit Games Open 17.2 was only 12 minutes, those 12 little minutes proved to be pretty grueling for those who attempted it on Friday night.

The workout went as follows:

2 Rounds of

  • 50 ft weighted lunge (35lbs/50lbs)
  • 16 Toes-To-Bar
  • 8 Dumbbell Power Cleans (35lbs/50lbs)

Then 2 Rounds of

  • 50 ft weighted lunge (35lbs/50lbs)
  • 16 Bar Muscle Ups
  • 8 Dumbbell Power Cleans (35lbs/50lbs)

Without question, the highlight of the night was our traditional member face-off that we fondly refer to as “Fight of the Night!”  The 7pm heat was dedicated to our three 17 year old male athletes who are all fiercely competitive with each other and who all have about the same proficiency level.  Each young man gave this workout everything he had, and truly put on an awesome show!  Everyone cheered them on, and everyone was on the edge of their seat.  The energy in the gym was electric!  Big congrats to Anthony, Cade, and Gavin for kicking butt!!
