The CrossFit Dark Horse Open

By: 0

Believe it or not, The Open is once again upon us! After a mere 6 months, the 2020 CrossFit Open starts this Thursday, October 10th at 5 pm when a live announcement reveals what the first workout of the series will be.

This year, CFDH is kicking it up a notch. Instead of everyone competing as individuals, we will all be part of a team, led by a coach, and our TEAMS will compete against each other. Think of it like an intramural version of the Open. Everyone adds value to their team, and everyone who wants to play gets to play!“Doing well in the Open” will be measured by a variety of factors. Did you do the workout? Points! Did you come to Friday Night Lights and compete, judge, or simply cheer everyone on? Points! Did you get your first pull up? Points! PR a lift? You get the idea. The scaled athlete with the best score each week receives the same points as the best RX athlete. We’re talking about a truly level playing field here, and it’s going to be a lot of fun.

So don’t be left on the sidelines! Sign up at and choose CFDH as your affiliate. Do this before Wednesday October 9th at 9 am, so your favorite coaches can fight over you when we do our draft that morning. Once we finish the draft, we’ll announce the teams and you’ll know who you’ll be playing and competing with.

Don’t forget, at the end of the day, the Open workouts are simply that – just a workout. We do those every time we set foot in class. No big deal. So everyone – from newbies to veterans – is already good enough and more than prepared to participate. What makes the Open so special is the community. That Open magic doesn’t happen without it. It’s the community that inspires us to reach a little higher, dig a little deeper, and go further than we ever thought we could, proving to ourselves that we are capable of doing so much more than we think we can.

So let’s go! You got this. You in?
